DL1 Armstrong Whitworth 0-6-0 DE
This kit represents a batch of diesel electric shunters built for
the L.M.S. All transferred to the War Dept. in 1940.
The 4mm version contains an etched nickel chassis with etched brass
overlays for bonnet and cab. The 7mm version comes with three thicknesses
of etch to capture all of the detail.

The kit represents a class of 10 examples built in 1956. The kit
builds the British Railways version.

Built in 1961 as diesel mechanical locos, they were all withdrawn
by B.R. in 1967. However D2511, 2513, 2518 and 2519 were purchased
by N.C.B. and D2511/2519 are now preserved.

The kit represents a long lived batch of diesel electric shunters built at
LMS Derby (nos 7080-7119). Several saw W.D. service in the Middle East,
Africa and Italy. B.R Nos: 12003-32.

55 of these locomotives were built and they had a short life under British
Railways although several went on to work in industry. Several of the class

This locomotive is based on the WD diesel shunters that were sent to France
on the Normandy landings in 1944. These were WD operated locos although
